What is Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift  treatment?

Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift is a minimally invasive non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to re-contour the face by elevating the deeper layers of the skin. It involves the placement of sutures made of Poly L-Lactic Acid monofilament with tiny blue molded cones along the length of the suture 

Who is suitable for Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift ?

Silhouette Soft® thread lift is suitable for both men and women who are affected by moderate mid face sagging, jowls and creasing from the nose to the lips. The lift is typically most beneficial for clients aged between 35 and 65 with moderate skin laxity.  

Which areas can be treated with Silhouette Soft® thread lift?

These include the mid face. Lower face, jaw and the neck

What happens prior to the procedure?

At Clapham Skin Clinic, we follow the following protocol: 

• Telephonic/face to face Consultation with our doctor who will take a full medical history. 
• Assessment of the area to be treated based on face to face/ video consultation and photographs .
• If deemed suitable for the procedure, we will schedule you for the procedure after giving you a thinking time( cooling off period) so that you can take an informed decision. 

How is Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift  procedure performed?

Silhouette Soft® involves the placement of sutures made of Poly L-Lactic Acid monofilament with tiny blue molded cones along the length of the suture. The cones are made of Lactic Glycolide (a mixture of lactic and glycolic acids). The suture acts as a support structure under the surface of the skin to help lift sagging soft tissues. The cones both hold the threads in place, and in time stimulate the body’s production of collagen to replace depleted facial volume. 

Are the effects of  Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift  treatment immediate? 

This results  in immediate tightening effect followed by a gradual regenerative effect due to stimulation of collagen production which will prolong treatment results. 

What are the benefits of Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift ?

The benefits of Silhouette Soft® thread lift are as follows: 

• It is a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure. 
• Silhouette Soft® is a unique treatment which can be carried out on a variety of areas of the face with long lasting results. It can also be used on the neck. 
• Treatment provides an immediate lifting effect. 
• Stimulates body’s collagen, this prolongs the duration of effect.

What is the aftercare?

• Clients are advised to refrain from chewing or drinking hot liquids until their face has regained full sensation.
• Clients are advised not to wash their face on the same day following the procedure. Gentle cleansing is permitted the next day.
• Avoid opening the mouth wide and avoid routine dental treatment for at least 4 weeks post treatment.
• Avoid taking aspirin for seven days after the treatment.
• Avoid extreme temperatures (sauna, etc.) for seven days after the treatment.
• Avoid having other cosmetic treatments for 14 days after the treatment.

Any discomfort following the procedure can be managed effectively by taking oral paracetamol two to three times daily after meals. 

How long do the results last for?

Results  last up to 18 months. It can be combined with other aesthetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, Sculptra, Platelet Rich Plasma and fat transfer.

What are the potential complications?

With regards to the side effects, it is normal to experience some mild bruising and swelling for two to three days following treatment. Very occasionally lumps at the points of entry can occur but these typically resolve spontaneously.
