Non-Surgical Lip Augmentation involves injecting dermal filler or a client’s own fat into the lips to enhance their appearance. Treatment can achieve a better lip definition, better symmetry and fuller and plumper looking lips.
As part of the ageing process the lips can lose volume, definition and symmetry. Lines and wrinkles around the mouth can also begin to develop, these are typically more pronounced in individuals who smoke as well as those who have had excessive sun exposure.
At Clapham Skin Clinic, we offer a range of dermal fillers for lip augmentation such as Juvederm® range (Juvederm smile®, Juvederm Ultra 3®, Juvederm Ultra 4® and Juvederm Volift®) and Restylane range (Restylane® and Restylane Silk®), Belotero® Lip and Teosyal Kiss®.
Lines around the lips, sometimes referred as ‘’smokers lines’’ can be smoothed out using products such as Juvederm Ultra2®, Juvederm® Ultra3®and Juvederm® Volbella. Some clients may benefit from dermal fillers in conjunction with small dose Botox® to achieve optimal results. For more permanent results we also offer fat injections using unwanted fat from another part of the client’s body.
Dr Baba, a highly trained and experienced aesthetic doctor who is also a senior trainer for this procedure at London Aesthetic Academy (www.londonaestheticacademy.co.uk) will perform your procedure.
Russian lip technique has hugely risen in popularity in the recent years. It is a modified ‘’ lip tenting technique’’ that involves injecting additional volume into the centre of the lip. The aim is to accentuate the cupid’s bow, heighten the lip, and make it more heart- shaped. Possible complications include significant swelling and bruising. At Clapham Cosmetic Clinic, we also offer what Dr Baba calls ‘’Modified Russian Lip technique’’ . He gives you the results same as the conventional Russian lip filler technique using a needle but he uses a cannula to do the procedure. This significantly reduces the complications from the procedure.
Lip fillers can last for 3 to 6 months depending on the type of dermal filler injected and our body metabolism and immune system. In individuals with high metabolic rates and stronger immune system, dermal fillers wear off quickly.
Swelling is relatively common after dermal filler injection for lip augmentation. Most of the swelling settles within 48 hours. Other effects are uncommon and include bruising, lumpiness and uneven lips. We take all the possible measures to avoid or minimise the complications.
