A French lift is a type of “mini face lift” which is much less invasive than traditional surgical correction. Sutures made of a biocompatible material are inserted into the hairline to create a subtle but effective lift to the face. This procedure has lost its popularity as the absorbable thread lifts such as PDO thread lifts have become available as such procedures have less complications as compared with French Lift.
A French Lift can benefit individuals who wish to correct drooping cheeks, sagging jowls and nasolabial (nose to mouth lines) folds.
Sutures are strategically placed in underlying facial tissue applying a gentle, lifting tension. This uplifts sagging cheeks, nasolabial folds as well as the jowls.
The procedure is performed in clinic under a local anaesthetic and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. A long needle is used to create small incisions in the side of the head close to the hairline. The sutures are then gently inserted into the facial tissue through these small incisions.
At Clapham Skin clinic, Dr Baba, a highly trained and experienced aesthetic doctor who is also a senior trainer at London Aesthetic Academy (www.londonaestheticacademy.co.uk) will perform your procedure.
Typically, it takes seven to ten days for bruising and swelling to resolve following treatment.
Results can last up to five years
A French lift can be safely combined with other non-surgical cosmetic procedures to achieve optimal results.
