RADIESSE® VOLUMISING FILLER IN LONDON

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

RADIESSE® volumising filler is a non-animal based subdermal, injectable dermal filler. Radiesse® contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CAHA), a biocompatible material that is a naturally occurring mineral found in human bones and teeth. The CaHA microspheres are suspended in carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) gel carrier which is responsible for the immediate volumising effect of this product. CaHA microspheres provide a scaffold under the skin, giving tissue structure as well as stimulating the body’s own production of collagen. The process of collagen stimulation continues for several months, which extends the initial effect of Radiesse® Volumising Filler and improves the skin texture and condition. The natural results achieved with this product are clinically proven to last a minimum of one year. 

USES OF RADIESSE® VOLUMISING FILLER

At Clapham Skin Clinic, we use RADIESSE® for a range of treatments including:

• Smile lines/ Nasolabial folds/Mouth to nose lines: These are the lines that run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth. They are due to loss of mid face volume and skin elasticity and can create a tired and unhappy facial appearance. Treatment with RADIESSE® replenishes the  lost volume by immediate filling effect followed by the stimulation of  collagen production that extends the effects of RADIESSE® for up to 12 months. 
• Marionette lines: These are the lines that travel downwards from the corners of the mouth creating the impression of a frown. With age and loss of facial volume, fine lines in this area can develop into deeper creases. RADIESSE® immediately restores lost volume and stimulates the production of your own natural collagen; results are clinically proven to last a year or more for the majority of clients. 
• The corners of the mouth: With ageing, you can lose volume in and around the corners of the mouth. This results in downturned appearance of the mouth giving us a sad appearance and deep marionette lines. RADIESSE® Volumising Filler replenishes lost volume and stimulates the body to produce its own natural collagen, hence provides volume back into this area, giving you a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
• Pre-Jowl: The pre-jowl sulcus is the area on either side of our chin. Age-related bone changes and loss of facial volume can result in a hollowing of this area. Subsequently jowls form as facial tissue sags in the lower third of the face. Replenishing volume loss in this area contours the jaw/chin  and can make a considerable difference towards creating a more youthful appearance. Injecting RADIESSE® is  a minimally invasive procedure to restore a smooth and youthful jaw line. 
• Chin Wrinkles: Wrinkles on the chin are typically associated with loss of facial volume. RADIESSE® can immediately restore volume to the chin, minimising the appearance of wrinkles which overall results in a smoother, more youthful appearance. 
• Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty / non-surgical Nose Job: RADIESSE® reliably produces excellent results with lasting results and minimal downtime. 
• Hand rejuvenation: RADIESSE® is one the best fillers available for hand rejuvenation. This effect occurs as a result of the replacement of the lost volume and collagen production. 
• Non-surgical Rhinoplasty: RADIESSE® can be used to  improve height of nose bridges, reduce the appearance of bumps as well as damage to the nasal framework following recreational drug use.
• Improving skin condition and texture: Apart from replenishing the volume and filling the lines, RADIESSE® improves the skin condition and texture by stimulating collagen production. The areas where the skin condition and texture can be improved include face, neck, and hands

SIDE EFFECTS

Possible side effects include slight redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising in the treated area. These side effects are only temporary and are typically resolved within a few days post treatment. We perform most of the Radiesse® treatments using a microcannula to minimise the complications. Clients are offered a follow up appointment two weeks post treatment where touch ups can be administered if necessary. Please note this product is not suitable for lip augmentation, tear trough correction and smokers’ lines.

At Clapham skin clinic, we apply a local anaesthetic ( numbing) cream to the area of injection before performing the procedure to minimise the discomfort from the RADIESSE® injection. 

What are the side effects of RADIESSE® ?

Main side effects of RADIESSE® include temporary redness,  bruising and sweeling. Rare side effects include lumpiness and itching. 

Who should not use RADIESSE® ?

People who are allergic to RADIESSE® or any of the components and who have multiple severe allergies.

Can RADIESSE®  be seen in X-rays or CT scans?

RADIESSE® can be seen in X-rays and CT scans  for the life of the filler.  Hence if you have an  X-ray or CT Scan of the face done for any reason let your health care provider know that you have had  RADIESSE® filler injected.

What is the aftercare?

On the same day refrain from makeup, any skin products and water contact. All these will increase the chances of infection significantly. 
For 24 hours refrain from any strenuous activity to avoid filler migration and avoid exposure to extremes of temperatures( hot or cold).
