Excess fat in stubborn areas is common in men and women. This can be addressed by surgical liposuction, Vaser liposuction or non-surgical liposuction using Aqualyx. None of these is an alternative to a healthy diet and exercise.
At Clapham Skin Clinic, we offer non-surgical liposuction using Aqualyx only for reduction of stubborn fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise in areas such as the chin, stomach, love handles, arms, outer and inner thighs, and jowls. This procedure is minimally invasive and reasonably effective.
Aqualyx is a specially formulated water-based solution which is injected by a specially trained doctor into the problem area. It works by surrounding the fat cells and breaking them. The fat is then naturally dissolved and flushed out by the body. Results are effective, quick, and minimally invasive.
On the day of the procedure the procedure is carried out. Aqualyx is injected into the localised fat deposits by a fanning technique. It liquefies the fat cell and destroys them permanently. As a result of this process, the lipids are released which are removed through the lymphatic system.
Most of the clients will tolerate the procedure well. However, some clients will experience slight discomfort.
We recommend that the procedure should be repeated every month until the desired effects are achieved. Generally excessive fat under the chin/jowls requires 3 to 5 sessions and the stomach (abdomen)/love handles/arms requires 5 to 10 sessions.
Overall, the treatment is safe, and the downtime is minimal. Common side effects of Aqualyx include slight discomfort, bruising and swelling in injection. Rarely there can be nodule formation that resolve spontaneously.
This procedure requires a high level of expertise and experience. At Clapham Skin Clinic, the procedure is performed by Dr Baba, a highly trained and experienced aesthetic doctor who is also a senior trainer for this procedure at London Aesthetic Academy. (www.londonaestheticacademy.co.uk)
